Ice Age Trail **This is a made to order piece that does have a wait time.**

Why is Wisconsin so beautiful? Why is the name “driftless” on our beer bottles and such? What is the “Ice Age” besides a cartoon and a chapter in our fifth grade history book? Ever compare a hiking guide to a glacial map?

The Ice Age Trail is a 1,000 mile footpath highlighting features more than 12,000 years old. As our glaciers retreated they left behind a variety of unique landscape features considered among the world’s finest examples of how continental glaciation sculpted our planet.

The yellow on the art is representation of the yellow markers that guide hikers along its path.

Material: Rilco Rafters manufactured in St. Paul, Minn. in 1947 reclaimed from the Ron Nordeng farm in Deforest, Wis.

Ever smell something that takes you back in time? Hear a song that transforms you back into a teenager cruising the strip in your friends car? For me, it’s the smell of wrestling mats and the dim hum of lights in a high school gym.

I built this piece with those feelings in heart and mind. I hope this takes you to your place. Home.

The story of the family history of the material is on the back. As always 100% locally reclaimed barn wood. Signed and numbered. Comes with a reclaimed nail so you can mark your favorite spot in Wisco... Hometown, cabin or special moment.

The entirety of my portfolio is founded on an ecological principle of upcycling Wisconsin’s proud heritage and landscape into visual and functional art for future generations, preserving the history of these buildings while bringing awareness to the need for us all to think before we consume. Every piece starts with a question; how can I transform material slated for refuse into beauty, value and a new life in our community? 59 tons of material saved from local landfills to date.
